The Gift Chest is owned and operated by Marla Valdez.  Marla has been part of The Gift Chest family for over 35 years.  The Gift Chest first opened in April of 1990, owned by John & Eleanor Kuyvenhoven, and Marla was their first employee and worked for them for 21 years. It was a Christian book and gift store. When the store closed in January 2011, Sandy Walker (an long time employee of Eleanor's) and Marla, decided to reopen the store with a focus on gifts, toys, books and more.  Serving the community of Wingham and beyond to provide "Gifts for every occasion."

Sandy retired at the end of 2018 and Marla took over full ownership of the store. Marla has enjoyed the retail experience in this location for over 35 years.
